Job Description Job Description JOB TITLE: SCATTERED SITE MECHANIC DEPARTMENT: HOUSING PROGRAMS FLSA: NON - EXEMPT LOCATION: YONKERS SALARY: $18 - $21 per hour SUMMARY: Responsible for the performance and delivery of quality services to Westhab properties. These services include, general repairs in plumbing, electrical, painting and plastering, as well as changing locks and repairs to appliances. Reports to the Facility Manager. Proof of COVID-19 vaccine is required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete assigned work orders and return to Warehouse Clerk. Assist with apartment turnover repair/upgrade of scattered site units. Trouble shoot and make repairs to electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems Consult with Lead Mechanic on status of repairs needed for units Assist with the preparation of scope-of-work for units Prepare daily field reports and communicate to Lead Mechanic of repairs needed. Maintain good communication between clients/tenants and staff Respond to emergencies and participate with on-call rotation Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two years experience as a mechanic; apprentice skills with the ability to perform repairs on doors, plumbing work, and carpentry required. Must have a clean, valid NYS driver’s license. Good verbal and written communication skills required.
