This full-time paraprofessional position supports students in grades K-12 with significant developmental delays and/or autism diagnoses across multiple school locations in the greater Southern Tier region of New York, including Bath, Hornell, Jasper-Troupsburg, Elmira, Elmira Heights, and Horseheads. The role is contract-based for the current school year with onsite responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to students with significant developmental delays and autism, including many who are non-verbal and use communication devices Assist with toileting, feeding, ambulation, and activities of daily living Manage behavioral concerns and implement elopement prevention strategies Utilize therapeutic de-escalation techniques following district-provided training Support students across a range of ages (K-21), with caseloads matching individual needs Desired Qualifications: Prior experience working in high-needs or behavioral settings, especially with students requiring intensive support Ability to manage toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance safely and effectively Comfort working with non-verbal students and those who use assistive communication devices Commitment to onsite work within assigned school locations Location: Multiple school sites within Bath, Hornell, Jasper-Troupsburg, Elmira, Elmira Heights, and Horseheads, NY Benefits and Opportunities: Gain valuable experience supporting diverse learners with unique needs Receive specialized therapeutic de-escalation training Work in a supportive, professional school environment with dedicated staff Impact the lives of students requiring individualized care in meaningful ways Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a bullet-point experience summary, resume, and any relevant certifications.
