Job Description:
Posting Summary The National Transit Institute ( NTI ), at
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks to hire
instructors who can teach a range of topics in our Transit Planning
course series (Introduction to Transportation Conformity,
Introduction to Transit Service Planning, State and Metropolitan
Transportation Programming, Ridership Forecasting, Transit Noise
and Vibration etc.) to professionals in the public transit
industry. The instructors will present course materials and assist
with other requirements related to course instruction. The National
Transit Institute ( NTI ) was established under the Intermodal
Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 to develop, promote,
and deliver training and educational programs for the public
transit industry. NTI identifies needs and promotes, develops, and
delivers high-quality training programs and instructional materials
through cooperative partnerships with the federal government, the
transit industry, educational institutions, and related
associations. NTI’s federally funded training programs are offered
virtually and in-person by high-skilled course facilitators with
industry expertise. NTI course facilitators are responsible for
providing effective and engaging learning experiences, virtually
and in-person, through the presentation of course materials,
leading experiential learning activities, facilitating group
discussions, and performing a variety of training administrative
functions. NTI course facilitators are also required to leverage
their industry knowledge and expertise to serve as a subject matter
expert for the development of course content.
