Job Description:
SUMMARY:
The Process Engineering teams focus is designing, developing, and
improving the performance of antimicrobial and conductive silver
metallized fibers, fabrics, and foam products. New products are
developed in conjunction with R&D, Production, Engineering, and
Quality. Existing products and processes are monitored to identify
opportunities to reduce cost, reduce scrap, improve
efficiency/output, improve quality, and/or improve performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a deep understanding of process data and operational
metrics. Analyze these trends and company KPI's to determine
opportunities for improvement. Initiate trials (DOE's), support
process changes and business decisions with analytics.
Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of
manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as
well as by collecting and interpreting data.
Create and maintain product recipes, process sheets,
procedures.
Document Bills of Materials (BOM's) & Process Routings - Estimating
production costs
Develop relationships with our suppliers and work with Quality to
ensure raw materials are within required specifications and not
negatively affecting production. Assess the availability of raw
materials and their safety and environmental impact of the
facility.
Support the scale up of products/processes into production &
commercialization.
Validate new equipment installed by Engineering
Monitor performance trends and participate/lead failure
investigations.
Use Infinity QS system (SPC) and JMP to analyze product performance
and trends.
Support any corrective actions initiated for the fabric product
lines.
Promote a continuous improvement mindset to all aspects of the
role.
Encourage to train for and become an internal auditor.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Chemical, Engineering or Technical field
with several years of related experience and/or training, or
equivalent combination of education, technical, or manufacturing
related process engineering experience.
Microsoft Office experience required. Project Management experience
required (certification a plus), Strong Statistics (JMP) knowledge,
ERP (QAD) experience as plus.
Previous manufacturing, chemical/color, textile, or medical
products experience is a plus.
Exposure to ISO-9001, ISO-13485, ISO-14001, and/or AS-9100 a
plus.
Six Sigma Certification, PMP Certification, or 5S Training is a
plus.
