Job Description Job Description Job Title: Refrigeration Technician Job Description We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of refrigeration principles and demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and industrial refrigeration systems. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and service all HVAC and industrial refrigeration systems using electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration skills. Maintain and practice current knowledge of all EPA and OSHA regulations, including keeping accurate records of refrigerant usage. Maintain critical spare parts inventory for HVAC and industrial refrigeration systems. Create and perform preventive maintenance procedures for all HVAC equipment. Collaborate with industrial refrigeration vendors on repairs and set up regular scheduled services such as vibration and oil analysis. Provide emergency unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment during the manufacturing process. Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production and facility equipment. Conduct mechanical tasks including mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration plumbing. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Ensure that equipment is running at proper speeds to achieve throughput standards and quality. Perform cleaning operations using detergent baths, degreasing, grit blasting, and wire brushing. Perform equipment inspections and correct any process or safety deviations. Write reports as needed, including Daily Communication Report. Follow OSHA, AIB, and SQF standards. Essential Skills Strong understanding of refrigeration principles, including compression, condensation, and evaporation cycles. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations pertaining to refrigeration systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and repair work. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical training or certification in refrigeration systems preferred. Three years’ experience servicing/repairing Roof Top Commercial AC Units (10t or greater). Three years’ experience servicing/repairing industrial refrigeration systems, especially low temperature systems. Five years’ related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment in a maintenance position. EPA608 Universal Refrigerant Certification. Work Environment This position is for the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday from 6pm to 4am, with flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will be on-call daily from 4am-7am and weekends. The work environment involves exposure to a variety of conditions such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, noise, and temperature extremes. The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Carlstadt, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $100000.00/yr. full health benefits including dental vision 401k program accrued sick time vacation, PTO, holidays offered plenty of OT available Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Carlstadt,NJ.
