Job Description:
Job Title: Event Sales Manager
Department: Sales
Reports To: Director of Sales
Job Summary: A event sales manager targets and coordinates event
sales efforts. The job involves initiation and development of
quality leads to ensure growth of catering sales. The primary
responsibility of a event sales manager is to develop existing
business and solicit new event business through event lead
generation and event sales marketing. The sales manager solicits
new customers through traditional and non-traditional sales
techniques. Other important duties include booking, selling,
planning and coordinating all special social events while assuring
the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue,
establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat
business while keeping quality consistently high, conducting event
sales presentations and event sales calls also falls under the
purview of a event sales manager job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Provides professional and courteous guest service at all times
-Makes personal sales calls
-Implements approved sales plan
-Develops innovative sales and marketing techniques
-Searches for and develops potential social catering demand
generators
-Creates and distributes in-house advertising and promotional
campaigns
-Menu planning
-Works closely with Banquet Manager and Banquet department in
motivating department staff (both temporary and permanent)
-Meets with vendors to establish SOPs, pricing, etc...
-Maintains hotel competitive analysis statistical information
-Networks and maintains relations with local civic groups and
associations
-Contacts in-house guests, group leaders, and meeting planners to
promote good will and garner additional business
-Maintains current filing system and prepares reports (Sales Call
Reports, Internal Sales Reports, etc.)
-Solicits, negotiates, contracts, details and services new social
catering bookings
-Details and services large group booking events/agendas for fellow
Sales Managers
-Attends weekly sales and team meetings
-Acts as Manager On Duty when scheduled
Additional Duties
-Completes projects as determined by Director of Sales
-Actively seeks out other tasks when current work is complete
-Participates in ongoing education and training of Franchise and
Hotel Management Company

- Multi-Tasking: Ability to work in a fast paced environment with
consistent energy levels.
- Prior Experience: Must have former hotel sales and/or convention
services experience.
- Organizational Skills: Must be detail oriented, well organized
and thorough.
NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates with Delphi.fdc
experience.
