Summary:
Spanish-speaking member of Outreach staff with primary
responsibility in home-based education and related support
services. Provides home visitation/education services to
participating families and groups.

Duties:
Makes home visits to families providing support in areas of
development including: Parent-Child Interaction, Family/Child
Well-being, Development Centered Parenting, Home Safety, etc
Maintains related files/record keeping and completes
program-related data entry.
Participates in team meetings, reflective supervision and home
visit observations to ensure model fidelity
Plans individual and group activities with children/parents to
stimulate growth in children's language, social, and motor skills
such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others,
and using play equipment. Also includes teen parenting
instruction
Assists with planning and implementation of weekly play groups and
with Parent Cafes
Collaborates with many community partners and human service
agencies (ie: local Children & Youth agency) to link families to
resources. Provides participant referral to schools, early
intervention programs, mental health services, etc., as needed
Provides follow-up to families as needed; maintains appropriate
record keeping as required.
Participates in a team process focused on best practices to serve
participating families, the community, and Outreach
Professional representation of agency at public events as
needed
Reliable transportation is required, as well as current driver's
license, insurance and registration
Completion of required evidence-based home visiting training and
certification is mandatory
Daily in-office attendance is required
Some evening and weekend hours are required
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in elementary education, neuroscience,
early childhood education, social work or similar from a four-year
college or university. Familiarity with at-risk populations and
openness to working with diverse cultures/families with economic
challenges, addiction, child welfare involvement, intellectual
disabilities, and mental health issues, is a must. Ability to teach
relevant programming using the required evidence-based curriculum
to participants as assigned. Good understanding of family dynamics,
child development, and psychology. Home visiting model
training/certification is provided and required. Ongoing
professional development is required: i.e.: mandated reporter
training, IPV, depression, D&A, OUD/SUD, autism/other related
family needs.
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in Spanish and
English

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have
knowledge of general computer literacy skills, and input into data
collection software and MS Office software. Proficiency with MS
Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) is preferred.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Home
environments where services are rendered, can be unpredictable and
subject to constant change.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often
required to stand, walk, sit on the floor, stoop, kneel, crouch, or
crawl as well as talk and hear clearly - as all may be necessary
instructing educational activities within a home environment. These
components may be needed during home visits, with parent/child
group activities, toddler playgroup, etc. The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while transporting
materials, etc.
