Performs and is knowledgeable/efficient in polysomnographic
diagnostic testing. Must have the ability to integrate a basic
understanding of anatomy and physiology with sleep/wake pathology.
Excellent communication skills are required for ensuring patient
education, safety and comfort as well as for discussing patient and
clinical situations with physicians. Attention to detail is
critical since the quality of data from the polysomnogram is solely
the responsibility of the technologist. The individual must be able
to maintain vigilance in a non-stimulating environment. Must be
able to assimilate data from several sources and anticipate
initiation of care, in accordance with protocols to prevent harm to
the patient. Must know when to consult the physician regarding the
patient's care. Must react quickly and calmly in emergency
situations and must understand and abide by patient confidentiality
guidelines.

Compensation Range:
$27.80 - $41.69 per hour, depending on experience

Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
Associates Degree or Certification from an Accredited School in
Polysomnography
or a NYS licensed Respiratory Therapist.
Preferred:
Previous experience in Sleep Medicine.
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
New York State License, RpSgT
Receive CPR within one (1) week of start date.
