Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: MRI Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 07/28/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 41 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Local Contract Job Title: MRI Technologist Location: New York, NY 10029 Job Code: MR95_MSH Schedule: Monday–Friday/6:30 AM – 2:20 PM and 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay rate : $ 70- $75 per hour on W2 Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified MRI Technologist to join our Radiology team. This position is responsible for operating MRI equipment and performing diagnostic imaging procedures to produce high-quality scans for interpretation. The technologist will apply technical expertise, ensure patient safety, and follow departmental protocols to obtain optimal imaging results. Key Responsibilities: Perform MRI imaging procedures according to physician orders and department protocols. Position patients and imaging coils accurately for best imaging quality. Educate patients on MRI procedures, expectations, and safety protocols. Review MRI safety questionnaires to prevent contraindications prior to scans. Appropriately label and transmit images to PACS and ensure studies are completed in IDX. Maintain cleanliness of MRI rooms and equipment before and after shifts. Monitor and maintain inventory of MRI-related supplies and accessories. Record and update patient information in the Radiology Information System (IDX). Schedule patient exams and perform clerical tasks when support personnel are unavailable. Adhere strictly to MRI safety and infection control policies. Assist radiologists or physicians during procedures when needed. Attend mandatory in-services and maintain professional development. Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly. Comply with all licensure and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MRI. Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-accredited program in Radiologic Technology. New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology. A.R.R.T. certified in MRI. BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Strong knowledge of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and patient care practices.
