Schedule Full time position comprising 36 hours/week with 3-12 hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holiday. Job Description The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing patients' respiratory care needs and developing comprehensive treatment plans. This role emphasizes exceptional patient and family experiences through optimized communication and care standards. Responsibilities - Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings consistently. - Establish and implement appropriate care plans. - Collaborate with members of the patient care team to ensure coordinated care. - Perform and document therapeutic modalities including aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy. - Manage conventional and high-frequency mechanical ventilators following established protocols. - Educate patients and families on disease management specific to age and medical needs. - Assist with intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients. - Provide acute airway management in emergency situations. - Set up and manage non-invasive monitoring equipment. - Document and process arterial blood gas samples accurately. - Function as Shift Coordinator after one year of employment and as a preceptor to orientees and students. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure - Graduate from a Specialty Training Program. - Valid PA License. - Basic Life Support Certification (AHA). - Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (NBRC). - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification. - S.T.A.B.L.E.
