Schedule Full time, 36 hours/week; 3-12 hour shifts/week including every other weekend and holiday. Job Description The Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses patients' respiratory care needs and plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates treatment modalities to meet those needs. The role ensures the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interactions, with a preference for candidates having NICU experience. Responsibilities - Consistently performs and documents thorough patient assessments. - Establishes appropriate care plans and communicates with other members of the patient care team. - Performs and documents routine therapeutic modalities including aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy. - Initiates and manages mechanical ventilators according to established protocols. - Provides appropriate, age-specific education to patients and families regarding disease management. - Assists in intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients. - Responsible for acute airway management in emergent situations. - Sets up and manages non-invasive monitoring equipment. - Assists with discharge planning for patients needing respiratory-related supplies. - Adheres to regulatory requirements and safety standards. - Functions as the Shift Coordinator when designated and assists in clinical procedure support. - Acts as a preceptor for new staff and students during their clinical rotations. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure - PA License - BLS Certification - ACLS Certification - PALS Certification - Graduate from Specialty Training Program - Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) - Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program and S.T.A.B.L.E.
