Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: Brooklyn, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,147 per week Shift Information: 5 days Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Brooklyn, New York, 11213! Job Title: Nurse Manager, Emergency Department Profession: IMC Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Experience: Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience, management/supervisory experience in the Emergency Department License: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State Certifications: BLS, ACLS, & PALS Must-Have: ED experience, Master’s Degree in Nursing Description: The Nurse Manager Emergency Department assumes 24-hour responsibility for overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Responsibilities include oversight and direction for the emergency department, and accountability for planning, directing, leading, and evaluating nursing care within the department. Foster an environment of collaboration and respect with all healthcare team members. Weekend and holiday coverage as needed is also a responsibility of the role. Performs related duties as required. Operational Performance: Develop long-term unit staffing schedules and ensure adequate daily coverage in accordance with established staffing needs. Develop measures and monitor unit operational performance metrics inclusive of agency and overtime costs, vacancy and turnover rates. Oversee daily workflow, staffing, orientation, training, and development of employees within the department. Be responsible for ongoing quality/performance improvement processes related to the emergency department. Promote and support a collaborative team approach in providing care for all emergency department and trauma patients. Approach others in a tactful manner and treat others with respect and consideration. Support and interpret policies, procedures, and objectives of the organization. Monitor customer satisfaction scores and implement plans to improve scores. Monitor patient volume, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement. Maintain a departmental dashboard that includes information and progress on people, service, quality, and leadership. Responsible for investigating patient, physician, and staff complaints/concerns and work to resolve the aforementioned. Maintain required competencies for self and all employees within the department. Participate in a professional organization. Clinical Practice/Patient Care: Collaborate with nursing leadership to establish nursing care standards and evaluate staff compliance. Identify protocols affecting the patient population served and keep nursing staff informed. Demonstrate self-development and keep current on a variety of clinical management and healthcare topics. Maintain a safe and caring environment for patients, families, and staff that is conducive to positive health teaching and maintenance. Develop mechanisms to assess the environment for safety and care quality. Ensure equal access to treatment for all individuals in need. Management: Participate in the overall planning process for the service. Conduct monthly meetings with staff to address equipment, scheduling, goals, and objectives, performance metrics, and improvement activities, as well as any staff concerns. Human Resource Development/Management: Educate and evaluate staff. Work with nursing leadership and human resources to counsel, discipline, and terminate staff as needed. Educate staff in new and existing department procedures and systems.
