Job Title: Staff Nurse Specialty Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in labor/delivery or high-risk OB License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Ability to perform vaginal exams, NRP certification, FM certification, ACLS, BLS Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury and alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a core responsibility. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment focused on patient-centered care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse based on unit assignment. Education of patients and families in health promotion and disease management is essential. The RN will utilize pharmacology knowledge to administer medications safely. The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. Compliance with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory. Active participation in nursing shared governance and improvement initiatives is encouraged. Preferred skills include previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Required education is a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Preferred education is a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
