Risk Management Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects,
promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. Prevention of illness
and injury is essential along with alleviating suffering through
diagnosis and treatment. The RN advocates for individuals and
families in the care process. The RN is responsible and accountable
for compliance with all standards of practice and professional
development. This is in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act,
various policies, and the Scope and Standards of Practice. The RN
promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered
care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements,
and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. They serve as a
primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit

a key responsibility. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of
pharmacology to safely administer medications. Collaboration and
effective resource utilization are crucial, including in staffing
