Job Description Job Description Drug and Alcohol Therapist Location: Bryn Mawr PA Section 2: Position Purpose The Drug and Alcohol Therapist will provide individual, group, and family therapies to children, adolescents, or adults, depending on the program support population, using evidence-based practices in addiction-substance use disorders, mental health diagnosis, and other areas as required by the program. Perform initial assessment, treatment plans, individual and group counseling, and coordinate with program support staff to identify and secure additional services and resources based on client needs. Section 3: Major Responsibilities DIRECT DUTIES: Therapy Conduct intake assessments, including recommendations for treatment Provide individual, group, and family therapies to people with mental health and substance abuse issues. Caseload Management Maintain active caseload, including engaging individuals in ongoing treatment. Maintain tracking system for treatment plans, and other required documents to meet program funder guidelines and program goals. Participate in clinical group meetings regarding ongoing treatment goals, progress, and discharge as needed. Administrative Enter documentation into electronic medical records in accordance with agency guidelines. Section 6: Job Qualifications and Competencies Job Qualifications Education and Experience: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field. Two years' experience providing direct therapy in the area of mental health, substance use or IDD. Familiar with standard business computer software programs and electronic Health Care Database programs. Specialize in substance use disorder as well as co-occurring disorder treatment. Adhere to DDAP requirements for participant treatment, documentation, and training. Willingness to have a flexible schedule as well as some evening hours. ACT 33/34 clearances if required by program FBI clearance, as needed All trainings required by licensure . Section 7: Network Conditions Network Functions Equipment/Machines: Physical Demands Maintain and abide by OSHA requirements and guidelines Observes all Fire and Safety Policies and Procedures Observes all Fiscal/Office/ HR Personnel Policies and Procedures Observes all HIPAA Policies and Procedures and maintains confidentiality · Attends all required and scheduled trainings and meetings Always maintain a professional demeanor and exercise good judgement in all areas of employment duties.
