Job Description THE POSITION : The Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking a dynamic attending with solid clinical and academic experience to join the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Medical Staff of Montefiore Medical Center and White Plains Hospital. The successful candidate will have a clinically active practice and work with residents in the ORs and inpatient units. At Montefiore Medical Center (50% effort), s/he will: Staff neurosurgery clinics and/or faculty practice as assigned by Chair and Vice Chair of Neurosurgery. Expand the Brain Oncology Program at Moses for metastatic and primary brain tumors Expand the Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) program in collaboration with the Radiology Oncology team. Perform emergency and elective surgeries. Provide Neuro-Oncology call coverage Teach residents, fellows, students and others. At White Plains Center for Cancer Care and WPH (50% effort), s/he will: Build robust surgical oncology program and develop a robust Stereotactic Radiosurgery Program. Participate in the call schedule, along with clinical supervision of all Neurosurgery inpatients. Perform emergency and elective surgeries. Seek out trials of new treatments for brain tumors. Take a lead in participating in such trials, obtaining IRB approval, and identifying potential patients for enrollment. THE CANDIDATE : The successful candidate must possess an MD and have completed a residency in neurological surgery. Candidates must be ABNS board eligible/board certified and be able to obtain an unrestricted New York medical license.
