Job Description:
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC
Health Hospitals/Elmhurst, serving the culturally diverse community
of Western Queens, is seeking a full-time board-certified
Psychiatrist for the position of Vice Chair for the Department of
Psychiatry. We offer a full spectrum of services including: CPEP;
Mobile Crisis Team; Adult/Child Inpatient Units; Women’s Forensic
Inpatient Unit; Adult and Adolescent Partial Hospital Programs;
Ambulatory Adult and Child Programs; Chemical Dependency and
Methadone Maintenance Programs; Assertive Community Treatment;
Consult/Liaison; Collaborative Care and CATCH Programs. The Vice
Chair assists the Chair of the Department in overseeing all aspects
of operations of the services and programs provided throughout the
hospital. In addition, the Vice Chair leads the Department’s
Quality and Incident Review Committees and is actively involved in
psychiatrist recruitment. The Psychiatrist should have demonstrated
administrative and leadership experience. Candidates must have a
MD/DO degree and be board certified in Psychiatry with a valid New
York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. An interest in
teaching and supervision of residents is required as Elmhurst has
both ACGME accredited Adult Residency and Child Fellowship
programs. We offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of
Medical at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience
and qualifications. We also offer a collegial environment and

benefits. Bae compensation for this role is $344,602. This is an
