This travel nurse job is perfect for experienced telemetry RNs seeking New York nursing jobs and short-term travel contracts. /n/nJob Details/n /n - Location: Johnson City, NY 13790 (Southern Tier, New York)/n - Unit: Med Surg ST 3 – Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown / PCU/n - Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown (PCU)/n - Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel Contract/n - Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 11, 2026)/n - Hours: 36 hours per week/n - Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts; every other weekend required/n - Open Positions: 3/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,360 - $2,480 per week/n /n/nJob Requirements / Qualifications/n /n - Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac telemetry, stepdown, PCU, or acute care setting (Telemetry RN / Cardiac RN experience required)/n - Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing/n - Current New York State (NYS) RN License/n - BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)/n - ACLS Certification required/n - Completion of telemetry skills checklist required/n - Clinical experience managing cardiac procedures and conditions, including (but not limited to):/n /n - TAVR, Watchman, mitral clips, and heart catheterizations/n - Pre/post-op open heart care, post-op CABG (>3 days)/n - Cardiac drips and IV/PO cardiac medications (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone)/n - Anticoagulation management, TR band and groin care/n - Acute conditions: CHF, arrhythmias, NSTEMI/STEMI, PE, stroke, sepsis, pneumonia/n - Observation patient management and complication management/n /n /n - Strong collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and time management skills/n - English proficiency (read, write, speak)/n - Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and professional certification in a related specialty/n /n/nPrimary Responsibilities/n /n - Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care for a group of patients on the Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown (PCU) unit/n - Function as primary nurse and/or accountable nurse per unit assignment/n - Perform continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret telemetry data for early identification of changes in patient condition/n - Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care; document accurately in the medical record/n - Safely administer medications and manage cardiac drips per facility policy/n - Deliver patient and family education on cardiac disease management, post-procedure care, and health promotion/n - Complete required skills checklists and demonstrate competency in telemetry and PCU procedures/n - Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies/n - Participate in unit council, quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and continuing professional development/n - Mentor and support new employees and students, fostering a learning environment/n - Promote a caring, healing, and patient-centered environment/n - Perform other duties as assigned/n /n/n Why join us?
