Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is
seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager ( ANM ) for the Crisis Receiving
Stabilization Center ( CRSC ) within Rutgers University Behavioral
Health Care. The primary purpose of the Assistant Nurse Manager (
ANM ) is to be responsible for supervising the provision and
management of patient care services for an assigned shift or unit
on a consistent basis. The ANM serves as a resource for nursing
care across the system on an as needed basis and works with other
healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. The ANM
promotes quality patient care, patient safety and customer
satisfaction. The ANM serves as the resource person for staff in
explaining and executing policy and procedure. The ANM functions as
a member of the interdisciplinary team; participates in quality
improvement activities, educational activities and supports
research endeavors. The role is consistent with the scope and
standards outlined by the American Psychiatric Nurses Association
for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. Among the key duties of this
position are the following: Assures the completion of admission
nursing assessment and on-going risk assessments in accordance with
specific unit standards and regulatory requirements. Supervises
staff in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating delivery
of care. Collaborates with treatment teams, clients, family and
significant others in the development of individualized plans of
care, on an as needed basis in an effort to promote wellness and
recovery. Assists with patient care responsibility when required.
Facilitates effective communication inter and intra departmentally
to coordinate efforts, resolve operations problems and improve
quality of patient care. Assists in interpreting and translating
the theoretical concepts of nursing into the delivery of nursing
services for all age groups. Plans and implements safe staffing
based upon the defined staff plan. Demonstrates respect and regard
for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow
employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous
environment. Overview Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (
UBHC ), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence
based behavioral health and addiction services for children,
adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC’s
1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff
are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC , one
of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country,
has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New
Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient,
outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis
stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and
case management, supportive housing, supported employment,
prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a
licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school.
Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention
helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military,
teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective
service workers. In FY2016, UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had
24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual
callers through peer support. In addition, UBHC is the primary
mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of
Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering
16,000 trainings each year. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s
