RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, organize, and direct all activities within
a subdivision responsible for the inspection, testing, repair, and
maintenance of rapid transit system contact rail, positive and
negative power cables, third rail power connections, and associated
equipment. Oversee managerial, supervisory, and hourly personnel to
ensure safe, efficient, and compliant third rail maintenance and
repair operations. Coordinate with subordinate managers to manage
the requisition, allocation, and distribution of materials and
resources. Manage the subdivision’s capital and operating budgets,
ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and alignment with
financial objectives. Monitor and track expenditures to maintain
fiscal accountability and support strategic financial planning.
Assist the Assistant Chief Power Officer, Third Rail Operations in
developing and implementing strategies to improve operational
efficiency and maintenance procedures. Respond to emergencies and
oversee the inspection, repair, and timely restoration of power
equipment on a 24/7/365 basis. Review Enterprise Asset Management
(EAM) reports and ensure compliance with all applicable standards,
policies, and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Baccalaureate
or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered in lieu of degree. Eight (8) years’ experience, of which
five (5) must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
DESIRED SKILLS Strong knowledge of rapid transit electrical power
distribution systems, including maintenance, repair,
reconstruction, and rehabilitation. Experience with third rail
operations, track construction, and infrastructure-related project
management. Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. SELECTION METHOD
