This position carries out a wide variety of responsibilities in the following function areas: employee relations, onboarding requirements, policy implementation, payroll, guidance with employee benefits and leaves and crafting Policies. The Human Resources Generalist will use the Human Resources System to ensure all employee records are up to date and confidential. They will also be the main point of contact for employee inquiries and related topics.All employees are responsible to follow all of Nutrition Corp. protocols of food safety.Essential Functions:--- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.--- Facilitates and works alongside recruiter in the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.--- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.--- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.--- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to new hires onboarding, benefits, and leave, workers compensation, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.--- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.--- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.--- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.--- May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations--- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.--- May oversee the assignment and daily workflow of the subordinate staff in the department--- Support Talent/ Recruiting processes and practices as assigned--- Performs other duties as assigned.Payroll Responsible for overseeing the bi-weekly payroll cycle to ensure our employees get paid in a timely and accurate manner. Process all payroll procedures including earnings, garnishments, tax withholding, and bonus payments. Ensure timesheets are submitted and approved timely with corporate and Operations management. Be Paylocity reports guru and provide ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed. Helps to prepare and distribute detailed reports, e.g., overtime, PTO, WC, ACA Subject matter expert, the go-to person to resolve payroll and benefit matters and continuously looks for improvements in processes and designs and implements those initiatives. Ensure the accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes, payments, and other statutory information requests (DOL) in multiple jurisdictions. Partner and collaborate with the Benefits administrator and HR Team on various aspects, including onboarding new hires, terminations, and other changes impacting payroll. Maintain confidentiality of any payroll, private employee information and any proprietary information and ensures payroll information is secure. Assist employees with HR related topics such as payroll inquiries, compensation, and other HR and company programs. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations.Required Skills/ Abilities:--- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.--- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.--- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization s HRIS and talent management systems.Supervisor Responsibility:No direct reports- Support Talent/ Recruiting practices and processes.Limited to assist company leaders with guidanceEnforce and educate Time/ Labor following company policy with disciplinary actionWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
