Position: - AVP, Product Development- HR Data Engineering -Job
Location: Cary, North Carolina -Department: This is an integral
leadership role within MetLife's Corporate Systems Technology
organization. Specifically, this role supports HR Technology and
the Employee Experience organization which touches every employee
of MetLife. This is an exciting time to join the Corporate Systems
Techonlogy organization, as we collaborate with our business
leaders and look to continue to transform MetLife's Employees
Experience. -The Employee Experience team consists of several
technology focused teams and a large data integration team. This
role will lead the data integration team. The data integration team
is responsible of several hundred internal and external interfaces
(largely with HR applications) and underlying data platforms that
enable the integrations. The role will work hand in hand with the
technology teams and build a strategy for a common data lake for
employee HR data. Provide direction on how integrations are built
in secure and consistent manner. Beyond integrations, the strategy
will include how to leverage data for better insights and decision
making. Building a Business Intelligence strategy by leveraging the
data from employee experience technology platforms. At this state,
most of data is from employee data coming from various HRIS
applications, however the data lake and integration methodology
should be scalable beyond HR data needs. -The Role: In this role,
the selected canddiate will lead product teams delivering Data and
API/microservice based solutions. The candidate will leverage their
experience and knowledge of enterprise data and integration
technologies, patterns, cloud architectures, software engineering,
cyber security and organizational leadership. As a leader, you will
be responsible for delivering on transformational initiatives
including cloud migrations, batch to APIS, DevOps enablement and
application modernization, working collaboratively with enterprise
partners. -The candidate will work closely with senior leaders,
business and internal technology partners, establishing a portfolio
and solution roadmap for the products and ensuring successful
delivery through an agile delivery model. In addition, this people
leadership role will be responsible building effective teams,
driving engagement and developing our talent. Ideal candidate
should be visionary interms of building an enterprise level data
architecture for future, while delivering operational excellence in
all existing data related projects.This is a key role for the
organization in order to enhance secure HR data, enhance
integration capabilities and further build business intelligence.
-Key Responsibilities:
- Full people management responsibility for direct product team
including hiring, promotions, performance, career, -training &
development and engagement
- Partners and Influences business with emerging technology
trends and capabilities that align to Product portfolio
- Understand HR data needs, proactive structure data lake
architecture and solution to meet those needs
- Drive direction for HR data architecture in data lake, provide
direction to data transformation needed for Business intelligence
purposes
- Deep understanding of the business' way of working to solve
challenges by leveraging technology
- Lead teams in the development and maintenance of an E2E IT
solution that supports a portfolio of products primarily in HR,
including the creation and implementation of technology roadmap and
management of technical debt
- Partners with Audit, Application Security and Architecture to
plan through potential risks associated with product and/or
processes
- Responsible for translating platform vision into work generated
by multiple Agile teams in order to ensure the platform meets the
defined goals and vision
- Leads and organizes demos of up and coming technologies that
can delivery values to the business.
- Lead product software delivery through continuous focus on
software development and maintenance metrics and KPIs
- Manage the team budget including maintenance, infrastructure
and annual discretionary portfolio of projects with product owners.
Also responsible for IT Vendor relationships and contracts
- Matrix management responsibility for cross functional team

Technical Skills:
Undergraduate degree required, MBA or
other advanced degree preferred15+ years of Software Architecture
and/or Engineering experience delivering complex enterprise
solutions in web, mobile, integration and/or data domainsStrong
working knowledge of Application and Data ArchitectureStrong
understanding of HR Data governance, HR data risk in global setting
including knowledge of international data privacy laws e.g.
GDPRExperience in People (Workforce) Analytics, HR Data expertise,
ability to drive insights from data is criticalExperience with
large scale HR data from several different ERP systems Expertise in
Azzure Data lake environment is requiredWorking knowledge of Oracle
HCM is requiredWorking knowledge of enterprise integration
technologies and patterns such as APIS, SOA, Service Bus,
Publish/Subscribe, Event based architectures and/or
SFTP/FTPSExperience designing and engineering data solutions,
including Big Data, Data Warehousing, Transactional processing, and
Data analyticsExperience delivering solutions using Microservice
based architecture leveraging docker containers and orchestration
platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm -Preferred Experience
and Technical Skills: -
- Experience working in and/or certification in SAFE Agile
model
- Azure cloud experience and/or certification(s)
- Experience delivering complex IT solutions in a large, matrixed
corporate environment
- 10-15 years of experience within a HR Data domain
