MUST BE PERMANENT CIVIL SERVICE In theSTAFF ANALYST TRAINEE I & II,
and TRANSIT MANAGEMENT ANALYST TRAINEE TITLE IN ORDER TO BE
CONSIDERED.Responsibilities:This Staff Analyst Trainee will assist
to plan and execute examination administrative tasks including, but
not limited to the processing of exam applications, scheduling of
test candidates, printing and distribution of test materials, and
the administration of written exams and protest sessions. Use
computerized systems and software to process and score tests,
calculate test scores, and generate a variety of exam-related
letters and reports. Perform data entry of exam applications and
exam information. Prepare letters, memos, instructions and other
general office correspondence. Handle and resolve customer
inquiries, whether by phone, email or in-person. Perform special
assignments as required. Will be required to work a flexible
schedule including weekends as needed to administer exams.Education
and Experience:STAFF ANALYST TRAINEE I-II1. A baccalaureate degree
from an accredited college or university; or
2. An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an
accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory
full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the
following areas: working with the budget of a large public or
private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or
financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in
management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational
research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public
administration, recruitment, position classification; or in
personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff
development, employment program planning/administration, labor
market research, economic planning, social services program
planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent
approved by a State's Department of Education, or a recognized
accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory full-time
professional experience as described in "2" above; or
4. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1",
"2", or "3" above. College education may be substituted for
professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an
accredited college or university for one year of experience.
However, all candidates must have a high school diploma or its
education equivalent.
2. For Appointment to Salary Step 2:
Completion of 1 year of satisfactory service at Step 1.
Transit Management Analyst Trainee1. A master's degree from an
accredited college in accounting, architecture,
business administration, computer science, economics, engineering,
engineering
technology, finance, industrial psychology, mathematics, physics,
public
administration, public policy, transportation planning, urban
planning/studies,
human resources management, labor relations, operations research,
security
management or in a related area; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or
supplemented by
24 credits in one of the areas listed in "1" above.
