Of The Diocese Of Scranton is seeking a full-time, Development
Officer, responsible for raising and tracking funds while
increasing the number of donors. Primary responsibilities include
developing and implementing ongoing communication and engagement
plan for loyal donors and developing and managing an effective
cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plan for assigned
donors.Responsibilities/Duties
- Develops measurable goals that reflect Catholic Social Services
priorities
- Develops communication and engagement plan for loyal
donors
- Manages a portfolio of prospects and creates a strategy for
each stage of the fundraising process
- Conducts face-to-face visits, and engages by mail, email, phone
and social media
- Solicits gifts and demonstrates a sound understanding of
fundraising principles
- Works well with others and collaborates from a position of
appreciative inquiry
- Provides accurate and timely reports (examples include call
reports and goal tracking, giving comparisons and mailing
lists)
- Maintains the Donor Database by entering all donations and
sending thank you letters and memorial cards as required.
- Prepares the Sponsor Calendar for St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen
for posting in the kitchen and on Facebook.
- Take charge of the major mailings for SVDP kitchen.
- Provides giving reports and mail lists as necessary.Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Experience managing a portfolio of donors toward specific
dollar goals or related experience in an organization setting or
experience in a comparable goal-oriented environment preferred
- An understanding of the principles and methods of fund raising
and constituent relations
- Adaptable, flexible and eager to work collaboratively with
colleagues to achieve Advancement goals
- Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet schedule
deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication
skills
- Works well independently and within a team
- Detail oriented
- Must be computer proficient, able to use Microsoft Word and
Excel effectively and should be familiar with mail merge, utilizing
databases and publisher software.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain and be responsible for
confidential information
- Data Entry
- Other Duties as assigned
