JOB SUMMARYAbout the Position: Incumbent will serve as a
Materials Examiner and Identifier Leader.JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assign work to subordinate members of the group.
- Provide specific oral instructions received from supervisor to
subordinate employees to complete assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate proper work methods; and answer workers questions
regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other
directives (e.g. technical orders).
- Check work in progress and when finished, checking for
compliance with supervisors instructions on work sequence,
procedures, methods, and deadlines.
- Answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies,
written instructions, and other directives (e.g., technical
orders).
- Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are
available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply
locations.
- Assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed (e.g.,
assures that machine capacities are not exceeded and that tools are

normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER
LEADER without more than normal supervision, to include the
identification and examination of various types of electronic
equipment, components, circuit cards, cabling and other types of
material to determine class and characteristics; utilizing various
automated supply systems to maintain stock inventory, receive and
issue stock, and turn in excess stock; Demonstrating proper work
methods; Assuring journey level workers are supplied with tools and
work materials as instructed and that there is enough work to keep
everyone in work crew busy; AND Providing information to supervisor
on status, progress of work delays and overall work operations and
problems. I can receive, examine, and identify a wide variety of
cryptographic equipment and arranging stocks for ease and
convenience of handling, movement, etc. - Failure to meet this
Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the
basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the
screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two
points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will
be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified
cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Ability to
Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint
Reading) Ability To Lead or Supervise Dexterity and Safety
Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise,
artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and
in order) Physical Efforts: Works on hard surface and in work areas
that require standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and
uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries weights up to
40 lbs. May handle heavier items with handling equipment or with
assistance from other workers. Working Conditions: Work is done
inside. Works in areas that are sometimes cold, damp, drafty,
dirty, dusty, moist, poorly lighted, and/or other adverse working
conditions. Frequently exposed to cuts, scrapes, and bruises, falls
from ladders, falling material, or injury from equipment. May be
exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and high noise areas while
working in mechanized work areas. May be required to wear
protective clothing.
