Job Description:

* Positions and transfers patients to the exam table.* Provides immobilization devices as required.* Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis and follows CT dose optimization.* Consults with physician and/or reads physician's orders to determine proper testing procedures according to established protocol.* Assists the physician in preparing and administering contrast material using the power injector.* Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or CT procedures.* Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Adheres to Infection Control Policies.* When necessary, must transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.* Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Follows all established stroke protocols.* Assists Physicians with biopsies and other invasive procedures.* Examining images to ensure they're usable before sending them to PACS.* Clean and maintains CT scan equipment and the power injector after each use.* Maintains CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.* Use CT scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues.* Operate CT scanners and associated equipment safely and in accordance with established policies and practices.* Able to keep radiation exposure to ALARA levels and use CT dose optimization for different age groups ad required.Position Requirements* This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a and Job-Related minimum of 1 year job-related experience.* Desired (not required) criteria include: Completed formal training in AMA approved school. ARRT in Radiology required with ARRT in CT desirable. Through knowledge of CT principles/procedures.
