Responsibilities

Under the Administrative Director for Quality, Safety and High Reliability within the Center for Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality (CSQ), the Senior Healthcare Data Analyst will turn data into actionable information and insights to drive safety, quality, experience and clinical operational decisions in assigned support areas.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria to make Abington Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees
  • Develop trusting relationships with customers and become the go to resource for analytic capability as evidenced by:
    • Identify, develop and deliver analytical solutions that provide impactful insights and critical business decision support
    • Use advanced knowledge of healthcare key performance indicators to identify drivers of physician enterprise, quality, safety, patient satisfaction, and business/service line operations
    • Manage client expectations and communicate plans for delivering solutions
    • Work fluidly analyzing and pulling data from Vizient, Press Ganey, and various other data warehouses internal to Jefferson.
    • Use wide variety of analytical tools including data visualization and interactive discovery tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, etc.), MS Office applications, SQL programming, and statistical/mathematical programming tools (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, python, etc.).
    • Document definitions and structure of clinical operational data in order to ensure governance
    • Conduct database management and analyze metrics that support Patient Safety, Quality, and Patient Experience projects, through report generation, scorecard production, data analysis, trend identification and translation of outcome results using data visualization.
    • Responsible for the submission of external data to the Leapfrog Group, Vizient and other agencies as appropriate. Ensure data accuracy in collaboration with the key data owners
    • Develop and Manage databases appropriate to the needs of the CSQ. Trains end users on standardized practices to ensure ongoing data integrity. Performs audits to ensure data is correctly entered into all CSQ databases.
    • Analyzes data and provides feedback to the improvement teams in anticipation of board and organizational reporting. Acts as a project partner/developer between Safety Quality Specialists and other parties to ensure integrity of data systems.
    • Produces monthly data reports for patient safety, quality, and pt experience indicators using appropriate data management/analysis/visualization methodologies.
    • Performs other duties as assigned. Education:
      • Bachelors degree or equivalent required
      • Masters Degree in public health, biostatistics, healthcare administration, business administration, health care administration is preferred AND

        Experience:
        • 3-5 years experience in research, data analysis and visualization or other data-related fields.
        • Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
        • Experience with report writing statistical analysis and computer analysis - required
        • Experience using a wide variety of analytical tools including Qlik, Tableau, MS Office applications, SQL programming, and statistical/mathematical programming tools (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, python, etc.) - required
        • Experience preparing data analysis reports for presentation to variety of key stakeholders at varying levels of the organization preferred Additional Information
          • Strong organizational, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
          • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with key stakeholders.
          • Able to handle multiple data analysis projects independently. Conditions of Employment
