About the Role: We’re looking for a Director, Project Management for Technical Operations Team to help us expand, lead, and develop a team of Project Managers who manage development, tech transfer, and commercialization projects. This leader will ensure a team-first approach to disciplined execution, cross-functional alignment, and delivery of Technical Operations objectives from early development through registration, launch, and lifecycle management. Reporting into Technical Operations leadership, this role balances people leadership with portfolio-level oversight and serves as a key partner across Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, External Supply, and Development functions. What You'll Do: • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers supporting Technical Operations and CMC sub-teams and projects. • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and development plans for PMs. • Provide oversight for Tech Ops projects across development, tech transfer, validation, registration, and commercial readiness. • Ensure consistent application of project management best practices, including integrated plans, timelines, risk registers, dashboards, and governance. • Review and challenge project strategies, critical paths, and risk mitigation plans; escalate issues and trade-offs as needed. • Drive effective transition of projects from Research into Technical Operations and onward to commercial manufacture. • Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Analytical Development, Quality, Regulatory, External Supply, Procurement, Finance, Clinical, and Commercial stakeholders. • Represent Technical Operations Project Management at governance forums, program reviews, and leadership meetings as required. • Partner with CDMOs and external vendors to ensure aligned execution, transparent communication, and risk management. • Establish and continuously improve project management processes, tools, metrics, and operating models across Technical Operations. • Enable proactive portfolio visibility through integrated reporting, scenario planning, and resource forecasting. • Translate Technical Operations and corporate strategy into executable project plans. • Identify capability gaps, capacity constraints, and opportunities for operational excellence. Who You Are: • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical discipline required; advanced degree preferred. • 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology operations or project management, with strong experience across product life cycle stages. • Demonstrated experience leading and developing project managers and high-performing teams. • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs in a highly regulated environment. • Strong working knowledge of Technical Operations functions, including manufacturing, analytical development, quality, regulatory, and external supply. • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to drive outcomes without direct authority. • Highly organized, analytical, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments. • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent. Where You’ll Work This is a hybrid role based out of Insmed’s Bridgewater, NJ office, with flexibility for remote work and in-person collaboration as needed. Travel Requirements Occasional domestic and/or international travel (approximately 10–20%).
