Job Description - Part-Time Diagnostic Technologist – UPMC Williamsport - Join Our Team and Make a Difference in Patient Care! - UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Part-Time Diagnostic Technologist to join our dedicated imaging team. You will apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes while ensuring patient safety and comfort. - Key Responsibilities: - Accurately identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures - Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply departmental protocols for optimal imaging results - Document patient history in the electronic record as required - Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy - Ensure proper coding, tracking, and archiving of exams in RIS and ISITE systems - Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols - Operate complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data - Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns - Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and respect in all interactions Ready to Apply? Join UPMC Williamsport and be part of a team that values excellence, compassion, and innovation in patient care ducation: Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification of program completion with a scheduled graduation date. - Candidates hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification. - Technologists cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained. Licensure & Certifications: - ARRT Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist - Must obtain Radiography Registry within 6 months of hire (effective January 1, 2025). - Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer. - Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification (AHA standards including both didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire. - If working in a New York facility, certification from ARRT or NMTCB and licensure through the New York State Department of Health is required.
